💎 Filler actually worth watching
- 67-69 (Chocho Arc) — light comedic Chocho/Team 10 spotlight, the most entertaining pure-filler stretch
- 112-119 (incl. Konohamaru's Love Arc) — Remon story; decent Konohamaru/Boruto character work
- 48-50 — Byakuya Gang aftermath with Sumire focus, ties up Class 1-related threads
- Note: Boruto's best 'skippable-looking' content is technically anime-canon, not filler — Mitsuki's Disappearance (71-92), Time Slip (128-136), Kara Actuation (158-175) and Great Sea Battle of Kirigakure (233-255) are anime-original but widely recommended
❓ FAQ
Which Boruto episodes are manga canon?
Roughly 74 episodes adapt the manga directly: 1 (partly), 19-23, 39, 53-58, 61-66, 106-111, 148-151, 181-189, 193-208, 212-220 and 282-293 — covering Naruto Gaiden, Versus Momoshiki, Mujina Bandits, Ao/Vessel, Kawaki, Sasuke Retsuden and Code's Assault.
Why is Boruto 'canon' so debated — what's anime-canon vs filler?
Unlike classic Naruto filler, most anime-original Boruto content (~179 episodes, e.g. Academy, Mitsuki's Disappearance, Time Slip, Kara Actuation, Kirigakure arcs) was produced under manga-staff supervision, so Anime Filler List classifies it as 'anime canon' rather than filler — only 28 episodes are true filler. Manga purists treat only the ~74 manga-adapted episodes as strictly canon.
Can I skip straight through on canon only?
Yes, with caveats. A strict manga-only path is roughly: 1, 19-24, 39, 53-66, 148-151, 181-220, 282-293 (Steam Ninja Scrolls 106-111 optional). But the anime-canon Kara Actuation episodes (157-175) introduce context the canon Vessel/Kawaki episodes assume, so many guides recommend adding 157-180 and 221-255 for continuity.
How much of Boruto is filler?
Strictly, only 28 of 293 episodes (about 10%) are filler: 16-17, 40-41, 48-50, 67-69, 96-97, 112-119, 138-140, 152-154, 156 and 256. If you count all anime-original content as skippable, roughly 70-75% of Part 1 is not adapted from the manga.
What is the status of the Boruto anime after episode 293?
Part 1 concluded March 26, 2023, right before the manga's timeskip into Boruto: Two Blue Vortex. As of June 2026 the Two Blue Vortex anime is in production at Studio Pierrot in a seasonal format, with a 10th-anniversary trailer released May 9, 2026 — but no premiere date yet; it's expected late 2026 or 2027 with little to no filler.
